What is Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a primary health care profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, management and prevention of neuro-musculo-skeletal conditions that occur secondary to the mechanical dysfunction of joints and muscles. These conditions often have a negative impact on our general health and quality of life, which we aim to improve.

Chiropractic means 'done by hand' and is a very safe and effective natural therapy.

Chiropractors are highly trained in a wide range of diagnostic and treatment techniques. We are also uniquely qualified to take and read x-rays.

Founded in 1895 by Daniel David Palmer, Chiropractic is now the third largest healthcare Profession in the West after Dentistry and Medicine. There are about 2000 Chiropractors in the UK and records dating back several thousand years from ancient Greek and Chinese civilizations refer to spinal manipulation including texts from Hippocrates.

The profession is regulated by the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and it is illegal to practice in the UK without being registered with the GCC.

In the UK, Chiropractors undergo a minimum of four years degree training and then graduates are required to fulfil a further year of training before they can become fully qualified with the College of Chiropractors. Chiropractic training is extensive and it has to be updated yearly in order to maintain registration with the GCC.

The chiropractors at this clinic are always striving to increase and update their clinical knowledge and attend many additional courses to those required to maintain GCC registration.

Everyone can benefit!

We treat people of all ages, from new born babies coming in for a check up, to people in their nineties. We have many children and teenagers on our books and they normally respond very well to gentle, safe chiropractic treatment. Naturally, treatments are tailored to size, age and particular health issues.

Chiropractic at this clinic

The Wymondham Chiropractic Clinic was established in 1981 by Kevin Corell and taken over by Andrea Lucchetti in 1992. With the help of many caring professionals working at the clinic, it has been transformed into a three chiropractor multi-disciplinary clinic offering the highest quality care to thousands of local people.

The clinic stands for efficient diagnosis and effective and honest treatment.

We believe that often a pro-active multi-disciplinary approach is the key to the most effective patient management and always seek to work with our patients to achieve the best care possible.

We maintain excellent communications and patient referrals with a wide and long-term network of NHS and private General Practitioners, Orthopaedic and Neurosurgeons as well as Pilates and Yoga Teachers, Athletics, Sports, Dance and Exercise Professionals in order to offer you the highest standard of care.

We believe in a holistic approach to patient health where non invasive treatment should be the first treatment option. We try to determine any non medical reasons for health issues, such as lifestyle, nutritional and emotional issues. We always look at treating the cause and not the symptoms and balance the benefits against the risks of clinical interventions. We are very keen on patient centred treatment programmes, although at the same time believe in a hands on approach to influencing function through chiropractic care.

Expect us to take your problems seriously and spend the required time finding the right solution for you.
